Indications

Partial Knee Replacement is indicated only in patients with specific findings on physical exam and x-ray. Once you come to the office, Dr. Zarzour will be able to further decide which treatment plan is best for you.

Recovery

Partial knee replacement recovery will vary from person to person but is generally significantly faster than total knee replacement. After your surgery, you will be walking on your new partial knee with physical therapy within a few hours. Some patients are able to go home the same day, while others will spend one night in the hospital.

3-6 weeks after your Partial Knee Replacement you will likely:

  • be walking normally without any aids
  • be able to drive
  • have minimal to no pain
  • be able to fully bend and straighten your knee

Within months you are likely to be back to all your normal activities and then some. You will continue to improve for up to two years after the operation.

Total Knee Replacement

Total Knee Replacement

Osteoarthritis often results in bone rubbing on bone. Bone spurs are a common feature of this form of arthritis.

Indications

Partial Knee Replacement is indicated only in patients with specific findings on physical exam and x-ray. Once you come to the office, Dr. Zarzour will be able to further decide which treatment plan is best for you.

Recovery

Your surgery takes about an hour and you will be walking on your new knee within a few hours. Some patients are candidates to be able to go home the same day of surgery while others stay one to two nights in the hospital. You will be given exercises to perform to help ensure the success of your new total knee.

Within a few months, you should be walking without any assistive device and see a major improvement in your ability to perform activities of daily living and your quality of life.

Indications

If you are having pain related to hip joint disease that has failed conservative treatment, you may be a candidate for total hip replacement.

Details

Your surgery takes about an hour and you will be walking on your new hip within a few hours. You will be given exercises to perform to help ensure the success of your new total hip.

Anterior Total Hip Replacement usually allows for a very quick recovery. Most patients are able to walk without any assistive devices within a week to ten days.
